Billard Physics

Jul 2, 2007 at 1:59 PM
Hello, your engine is amazing nearly everything works fine.
Im waiting for the new version ;-)

But i have a problem. I want to make a 2D Billard game with your engine.
I create a few CircleRigidBodys and create the PhysicsSimulator with no gravity.
The problem is that the engine dont compute the "impact" with the mass of the balls,
so that one ball would stop perhaps if it hits another.
I cant discripe better i am not so good in english ^^

Is there any solutions for that problem?

I've tried billiards with Farseer before, and I didn't really have any major problems. What exactly do you mean by "computing an 'impact'"?

The angle of the balls are correct, but not the speed.
An example:
o <-- o
ball1 ball2

After(should be):
<--o o
ball1 ball2

But my problem is, that ball2 do not stand still after the collision, it
has the same speed than before and follows ball1.

Did you try adjusting the RestitutionCoeficient of the balls? 1 = completly elastic, 0 = no bounce.

Ok, now it works
Thank you.
For the future it would be helpfull if there are discriptions for the properties.

in the future there will be documentation. :-)
