How to make a Ragdoll stand still (more or less)

Jun 3, 2010 at 6:57 AM

I'm interseted in making a ragdoll stand up and move only a little.  The FP2.1 has the great sample showing the ragdoll, and I can do things there like attach a spring to its head and pull it up.  However I get the ragdoll twitching a lot,

Would I be better if I moved to FP3?

Has anyone achived this in the past?

I made once a walking ragdoll, but I cheated a little to help it to maintain its balance using a fixed-rotation body for his chest. Anyway I had lots of problems on the limb rotation, because I made each limb rotate manually using their center as a pivot point instead of the limb joint (as I was recently learning how Farseer works and also I was learning C#). I guess now it should be different and better.

Anyway, I think you should move to FP3, mainly because the motors in the revolute joints, which could help you to move the limbs correctly.
