just collision detection

Hi, I'm trying to make my first silverlight game. Is there a way to use Farseer to do just collision detection without the physics overhead? I would like to take advantage of the sweep and prune broad phase algorithm but I'm not sure if it would be good if I just turned off physical motion and "teleported" objects myself all the time.

My second question is: how do I go around testing for speculative collisions with a ray (finite, infinite and "half infinite" meaning it has a start but does not end), angle and area (circle, AABB, OBB... with the possibility to just tell if there was any collision or to enumerate all "covered" bodies) without having to dynamically add and remove tens of temporary bodies at each update?

Are you using FPE 2.1.3 or FPE 3.1? The latter has a dynamic three broad phase algorithm. I will answer the first question when I have this info.

The answer to the second question also depends on the version you are using.

I use 2.something but I can switch to a newer one I think. I'm using SilverSprite.
