Best way to simulate objects floating in water?

Hey there,

could you give me any pointers on what would be the best way to simulate forces that keep objects afloat in water?

The pseudo-realistic solution is to implement a buoyancy simulator (planned for FPE 3.3)

The fake way of doing it, is to just bounce the shapes up and down with damping turned up.

I've seen that Kwame is working on buoyancy. Is there any timeframe on when the feature will appear in the trunk? Let me know if I can be of any help implementing it.
