Ray Cast and Cutting

I have a cutting tool and some objects to be cut. The aim is to only be able to cut the first fixture along the ray cast, start point been the center of the player and the end point been the mouse cursor.

The problem is i can't seem to find a way of doing it to the extent that it ignores everything after the first endpoint.

Is what i'm trying to achieve possible and if so what would be the best way of doing it?
