Prismatic Joint moving stationary objects

I have a prismatic joint aligned to the X axis joining two objects on the ground, motor speed and max force set at 100, limit set such that the two objects are supposed to be side by side at rest. Without adding any other forces and intentionally clearing any small forces (just to make sure it isn't any latent force from previous interactions), I find that the interaction between the two objects seems to jerk minutely, but sufficiently to slowly move the objects about. What can I do to remove this jerkiness and/or movement?

For reference: I'm using the prismatic joint to simulate a character grabbing an object, so the joint is created at run-time.
