Revolute Joint Displacement

Hi, I am making a 2d platformer (running on 3.2 farseer and win phone 7) and i'm having troubles using revolutejoints in different instances of the game.

For example, im using revolute joints to create rope like objects but, if i don't set a high mass on each link of the rope it will tear apart. And if i play too much with these masses i cant have the player to interact properly with the objects. This problem is also reflected in lever type items where if an object with a higher mass interacts with it (specially close to the pivot point) the lever is displaced instead of just rotating. I've noticed that disabling the continuous collision detection the behavior is somewhat more stable but this affects other areas so its not entirely a solution to the problem.

Are you sure your using the right units, ie. meters, kilograms, etc? What's the size of a rope link?
