Texturising a path used for a level's ground

Hi everyone,

I've been playing around with writing a small scrolling platform game, and I am having some trouble figuring out the best way to apply a texture to a path that i have for my ground. I've hunted high and low for a good sample and have had no luck.

 

Basically, i figured i'd have one 2d path as my ground, and I'd add the obstacles in the level on top of it which would contain the more advanced bodies (I'm successfully using texture to verticies). Now, the trouble i'm having is applying a graphic to the entire width of the path. Obviously, the graphic is much smaller than the path is wide, so i need some way to tile it or similar.

 

So, are there any good samples out there that could hepl me out? I've been searching, but can't for the life of me find anything useful. I played around with a parallaxing camera but that doesn't look very good.

 

Any help would be appreciated!
