low FPS, even in emulator

Mar 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM

I am starting out with farseer and I created two simple rectangles.  All seems to work fine, but the debugpanel reports an average of 13 fps in the emulator...
(it has not been tested on the phone itself)

This seems very low to me.  When the object moves quickly, it isn't smooth.
How can I improve this FPS.  I only have two simple objects...

I use ConvertUnits from the sample projects to convert the dimensions to the farseer units.

Thx for the assistance!

Does your PC support hardware virtualisation? If it doesnt you'll get slow performance always. Try runnig the same project with Farseer disabled, does it still run slow?

There is a MS tool to tell you if your PC supports Hardware Assisted Virtualisation here:

I should clarify, this hardware virtualisation is purely to help emulator performance. It's got nothing to do with farseer itself. If you're seeing poor performance on the emu always and you've not tried it on a device, this could be the issue.
