Revolute Joint; Dampening?

Jul 20, 2009 at 6:16 PM

I've got some revolute joints, but I want to apply some kind of dampening because once they get some force they don't seem to stop swinging around for a very long time. Is there any variable to apply dampening or maybe friction to the joint? I've heard you can use an angle limit joint to achieve the same thing but this wouldn't work as I still need my obejct to be able to swing all the way round... I just want it to lose angular velocity as it does so so that it doesn't keep going round and round...

You can increase the RotationalDragCoefficient on the body.

Or you can manually apply some torque to the body to make it rotate slower.

Excellent, it works perfectly - I did have to also increase the linear drag coefficient, for future reference, but this is solved now.

Thanks again genbox, you're awesome :)
