Creating Fall down using Farseer

So I am trying to learn XNA/Farseer and for my first game I would like to code a game similar to this http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/falldown2 . Now I have figured out almost everything. The only thing I am having trouble is the platform. How does one go about doing it.

 

Do I use the Tile Engine or is it basically a drawn out rectangle with a certain width-Say 200 px-, and i somehow splice out and create an empty area? Basically, i want to create random holes in the platform and I am just confused as to what the technique that gets used is. Thanks

For best performance I would create an algorithm that creates the blocks randomly and speeds them up over time. At the top you simply remove the blocks from the physics engine. To test if the player loses you could simply test the y position of the circle. You choose a pretty good game to learn with and I wish you luck.

About your question - I would say it's a just a drawn rectangle, but you could easily use the tile engine if you wanted.
