I know that large tex2pol landscapes should be split into chunks, but how do I do it? If I want to do it like in the manual (vertically), how does it happen? I know this has been discussed before, but I haven't found any concrete examples, and I've ran out
of ideas.
Shouldn't be too hard, right?

It is not too hard. One way of doing it is to do it manually, another is to calculate the AABB of the polygon, walk x pixels along the Xaxis (on the boundary of the AABB) , insert the first point of a line and then the next point of the line at (x,y)+y.
Now you have a line that you can check for intersections against your polygon. Insert points in the polygon where the line intersects the polygon. There you have it.
