Data needed to encapsulate physics state?

Unscratch that.

Let's say I have an input-driven physics simulation with a single object. It only moves on the X axis.
Let's say I am in the middle of moving my object from one place to another.
I am also recording the state & input continuously so that I can replay it.

Now I want to replay the simulation, but I want to start in the middle. For the initial starting state for replaying my simulation (starting halfway through), I'm trying to use only the position and LinearVelocity.

I am not able to reproduce the original results.

My actual application is much more complicated, as is the bug in the simulation I'm working on. I've about come to the conclusion that I cannot reproduce the simulation with only the position and velocity.

Can you shed some light on this?
Is there some other data I need for the initial state?

Did an experiment and it looks like position and velocity really is all you need, so the bug must be in my simulation playback code.
