Circle platform not moving objects

Aug 1, 2011 at 6:25 AM

I've got a Circle body with a FixedRevoluteJoint attached at the center and I'm manually rotating the objects in an Update method and my problem is that everything looks correct but any objects that land on the circle don't move with it, they just sit on top while the circle rotates underneath. I tried messing with the friction of my objects and several other things but nothing is working. What could be the issue?

I've tried some other things and I still can't get this to work. Any ideas?

How are you 'manually rotating the objects'? You should be applying torque to the body to rotate it, as the friction calculations make use of linear/angular velocities. If you are setting the rotation directly using Body.Rotation, it will internally call SetTransform which has a comment something like "manipulating a body's transform may cause non-physical behaviour".

Hope that helps.

I was updating the Body's Rotation instead of applying torque. I'll try that, thanks.
