multiple geometries

How do you determine the best body type (rectangular, polygonal, etc) for a body with multiple geometries?  In the demos, the "jack" shape uses a rectangular body type, but there's no clear indication of why.  Is there some set of guidelines about how and when to choose each type of body?  I know the body determines the MOI and applies certain forces, but past that I'm lost.

The bodies size only affects it's MOI and nothing else. If you have an odd shaped body I would use the polygonal body. You could use the new extensions for the Vertices to combine polygons and then create the body from the unioned polygon. Hope that makes sense.

This really is a phenomenal physics engine.  Thanks for all the hard work.  Hopefully I can contribute something some day.

Thx for the kind words. I think the engine is really maturing as more and more people improve it, but the real thanks goes to authors and users that make using this engine so great.
