Creating Enemy Line of sight, as a sprite collision body, that has not physical effect

EDIT: Apologies my last topic was a little premature, as I just got to the sensors part of the box2d manual.

But can I expand this question and ask about how a possible raycasting solution can be implemented to test against the enemies line of sight being blocked by walls before hitting the player.

if I cast a ray from the point of origin of the line of sight sensor, will the collisions be reported back in order from the origin to the endpoint?

Hope you guys can help.
